Kokajhar: A daylong awareness program on “Increasing Reading Habits in the Society and Career Counselling” was held at Zamduar Junior College in Kokajhar district.
Organised by The People’s Aid, a Kokajhar based NGO in collaboration with Directorate (CHD) of Library Services, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) over 350 students from Zamduar Junior College and other institutions of Saraibil area participated in the programme.
Renowned career mentor and CEO of NE Foundation from Guwahati Ranjan K. Baruah graced the program as a resource person and motivated and aware the students on the importance of book reading habits and career opportunities in various fields.
Sansumwi Boro, Sub-Divisional Librarian of Gossaigaon inaugurated the programme. Nava Kumar Basumatary, President of The People’s Aid gave the welcome addressn while Achinta Narzary, President of ZAC/ABSU gave vote of thanks.
Among others Celestin Selesto Daimary, Principal of Zamduar Junior College,and his faculty members, Dr Chithum Basumatary, Secretary of The People’s Aid, members of Jomduar Anchalik committee ABSU were present on the occasion.
