  • DIG, Assam Police took stock of situation in the trouble torn Dhula area in Darrang

    Mangaldai : The Assam Police has been closely monitoring the situation in Tangnijar village under Dhula Police Station in Darrang district following a few incidents of  vandalizing and looting of temples of the locality in the wee hours of Saturday . Brojenjit Sinha, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Assam Police , Central West Range along with Amrit Bhuyan , Superintendent of Police , Darrang on Saturday evening visited the area to take  stock of the situation arising out of the public sensitive incident . The senior police officials assured the local public to conduct inquiry and  book the culprits behind the incident within short time . At the same time they appealed to them to remain alert so that during this election period  no political force with narrow interest could create unrest among the different local communities . A local level public  peace committee with the participation of the local leading citizens from different communities have also been formed as informed by Superintendent of Police ,Bhuyan while talking to this reporter  . Meanwhile the person who had been picked up by police from the  village after villagers nabbed him on suspicion is stated to be identified by Psychiatrist as a patient of mental disorder called   Schizophrenia . “ Having suspect about his unnatural behavior , the person was taken to the Psychiatrist in the Mangaldai Civil Hospital and the Doctor identified him as a Schizophrenia patient .” SP Bhuyan said .
