Seventy five percent voters’ turn out in Assam’s 8 Mangaldoi HPC

Haflong : Defying the 36 hours Bandh call by lesser known armed group an estimated 65% voters in Dima Hasao peacefully exercised their voting rights in 242 polling stations today during the second phase Lok Sabha Election.
Though polling started at 7 am throughout the district of Dima Hasao but in many polling stations vote casting delayed for hours due to malfunctioning of EVMs and lack of knowledge of EVM operation among the polling officials. Later, EVMs were replaced resulting to hour-long delay.
Voting percentage in 16-Haflong (ST) LAC under 3-Autonomous District constituency began with 11% till 9:00 A.M. followed by 42% till afternoon 1:00 P.M, 58% till 3:00 P.M to rise till 65% by 5:00 P.M. which is likely to increase slightly after the officials from the far flung polling stations report by tomorrow morning.
16-Haflong (ST) LAC segment in Dima Hasao is a part of 3-Autonomous District along with 17 Bokajan, 18-Howraghat, 19- Diphu and 20-Baithalanso under the Karbi Anglong district which has been a part of the second phase of the Lok Sabha Election 2019.
