  • Doctor’s strike continue at Safdarjung hospital

    Not satisfied with the assurance given by the Union Minister of State for Health Dinesh Trivedi over the issue of security inside the hospital premises, medicos at the Safdarjung hospital in New Delhi is continuing with their indefinite strike that started off on Tuesday.

    “We will continue our strike as there was no solid assurance given by the Union Minister of State for Health Dinesh Trivedi regarding security facility inside the hospital premises. We had demanded security of the hospital premises by the central paramilitary forces which has been denied,” Joint Secretary, RDA, Safdarjung hospital, Dr Pratap Dutta said.

    Demanding enhanced security of the hospital nearly 1,200 resident doctors of Safdarjung Hospital called for strike at the hospital after one of their colleagues was allegedly beaten up by relatives of a patient.

    Medical Superintendent, Safdarjung hospital, Dr N K Mohanty said he tried to assure the doctors but they wanted to talk to the Minister.
