  • Doctors two days strike in Punjab affects medical services in Govt hospital

    Published on June 10, 2013

In Punjab, medical services have been hit badly in Government hospital all over the state as doctors have gone on two days strike on the call of some of the unions of government doctors.

Doctors have gone on strike in protest against the mass transfer of 523 doctors in the state last week.

Patients admitted in hospitals and visiting OPDs are not getting due services. Emergency services are being provided by specialist doctors as they are not on strike.

Doctors posted in rural hospitals are also providing services as they are working under the rural development department.

State Health Department says transfers were ordered as a rationalization step to provide medical facilities in the areas where number of doctors was less.
