NAGAON : A large number of illegal logs were seized in the Jakhalabandha area in recent times.Based on a tip off, Protection squad from Nagaon Forest Division seized a illegal timber laden Tata DI carrier near Jakhalabandha early this morning. Sources claimed that all those illegal timber logs were being carried in one Tata DI carrier bearing registration number AS 02 BC 8747 from the forest reserve in Karbi Anglong district. Subsequently, the seizures were brought to the office of Nagaon Forest Division for further necessary legal action, sources added. On the other hand, the same squad from the division raided at the residence of one Abdul Kadir situated at Baghjan area under Jakhalabandha PS where the squad were able to seize 37 timber logs and other sawn timber of variety kinds from his residence.
