 Gwahati: A Youth arrested for enticing and defrauding a private university students to clear examinations.In a shocking incident a youth has been arrested by the city police for enticing and defrauding students of a leading private University in Guwahati – Assam Down Town University – to “help” clear their exams. The accused identified as Nur Uddin Ahmed is an ex-student of the university itself who had been running the scam for a while by preying students of his alma mater. It may be stated that a former faculty member of the university namely Gunajit Choudhury has also been accused of the same who is currently absconding from the police. The scam came to light when students of the university complained its authorities about it who acting swiftly lodged an FIR at the police station a few days ago. Following this police started an investigation which led to the arrest of Ahmed. Reportedly, both the accused used to illegally obtain money ranging from twenty thousand to one lakh rupees from the students. Police is carrying on with the investigation whereas an internal inquiry has been carried on by the university.
