About 282 employees of PHE Haflong division are to get their salary for last 6(six) months resulting to utter financial hardship to the entire families of PHE employees.

It is learnt that t a delegation of aggrieved employees wished to meet the in charge Executive Engineer PHE) Haflong Division on 09-08-2019  regarding non receipt of salary but the in charge Executive Engineer (PHE) Haflong Division, Haflong behaved very rudely with the delegations and did not even listen to their legitimate prayers.

In this regards a meeting of Halong Branch of All Assam PHE Employee Association was held on 14.11.2019 wherein everyone expressed great displeasure for non receipt of monthly salary since last 6(six) months causing great hardship to the employees.

The meeting had urged upon the concern authority to pay up to date salary at the earliest otherwise, the association would be compelled to take agitational programmes such as, demonstration in front of the Divisional office, withdrawal of work from the site and the responsibility of which would have to be borne by the concerned authority.

The meeting had expressed great dis-satisfaction regarding delay of preparation of monthly pay bill, as a result of which the employees did not receive  their salary in time and which was generally paid in the last part of the month. The meeting therefore urged upon the i/c Executive Engineer (PHE) Haflong Division, Haflong to depute efficient staff for preparation of pay bill so that we may get our salary in time.

Bipul Longmailai, Secretary, All Assam PHE Employee Association, Haflong said ‘we are demonstrating for the early payment of our salary for which the families of these employees are in utter hardship and will continue tomorrow also but if the authority concerned fails to pay any heed to our demand we would be bound to go for strike from December 11 next’.

Abul Hrangkhol said we are not against anyone we only want our pending salary since non-receipt of salary has resulted to utter hardship to the families of the employees.  Though we are agitating, considering the emergency we are not hampering the water supply but if the authority concerned fails to meet our demand we would be compelled to go for strike for which the authority concerned would be held responsible.
