The India Meteorology Department in Chennai has said, heat wave condition is likely to prevail in several northern districts of Tamil Nadu for two days.

In a weather bulletin issued today, it said the average maximum temperature is likely to be above the long term average by two degree Celsius in the region. It has asked the public not to expose themselves to hot sun from 11 am till 4 pm to avoid sunstroke.

Meanwhile, Tiruttani and Vellore in northern Tamil Nadu witnessed a maximum of 43 degree Celsius temperature.

The sky condition in Chennai is likely to be partly cloudy with the maximum and minimum temperatures hovering between 41 and 31 degree Celsius.
