  • India, Spain should work together to deal with terrorism: PM Modi

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described terrorism as a challenge to the humanity and stressed that India and Spain should work together to deal with this emerging global challenge. He said that both the countries have witnessed the menace of terrorism.

    Addressing the media jointly with the President of Spain Mariano Rajoy in Madrid, he said that the two countries can cooperate in several areas including infrastructure.

    The Prime Minister said the New Delhi and Madrid must have closer economic ties. Mr.Modi said that India is in favour of making ties with Spain even more productive in the coming years.

    He invited Spain to invest in India in sector like Smart City and railways. The Prime Minister expressed hope that the discussion with the President will lead to the enhancement of bilateral ties.

    He hoped that his visit would boost the bilateral relation between the two countries. He said that in present world, all countries are inter-connected and inter-dependent and further said that he will discuss with Mr.Rajoy on how to work with each other for the globe as well as for Europe.

    Mr.Rajoy hoped that the visit of Prime Minister will develop the bilateral relation further. Now the two leaders are holding restricted meeting. Prior to that, he was welcomed by Mr.Rajoy.
