  • J&K govt starts ‘Back to Village’ Programme to connect with rural people

    Jammu and Kashmir government has started ‘Back to Village’ Programme from 20th to 27th June 2019, an initiative to connect with the rural people.

    Under Governor’s Rule, this initiative involves field visits, public interactions, registering of grievances, an inspection of public utilities, holding of awareness camps and other allied activities which were conducted in Trespone and Silmo yesterday.

    The program has received great response from the public, particularly the womenfolk of the villages, who are taking a keen interest in this ambitious programme and raised various issues with regard to the development of the villages with the officers seeking their intervention for an early redressal.

    Plantation and cleanliness drives were held today at Gram Panchayat Silmo and Trespone. Special awareness was also conducted by the Nodal Officer, Trespone CDPO Tai Suru Parveen Akhtar, on Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM) Pensions Scheme and said that the scheme provides pension benefits to the unorganized workers who have to pay a monthly premium of 55 to 200 rupees depending on the age of the subscriber, falling between the age group of 18-40 years, after attaining 60 years. She urged upon the unorganized workers to get benefitted from this scheme which is a very helpful and important scheme.

    Later Gram Sabahs, Women’s Gram Sabha and issuance of job cards at meeting at various locations took place. The people appreciated the efforts of the Government to provide on doorstep services to the far-flung areas and for listening to their grievances at their home.
