Jorhat: To ferry polling officials to their respective polling stations Jorhat district administration has kept ready all big and small vehicles including tractors, recovery vans, cranes which will leave to their respective destination from the early morning at 630 from Wednesday next, said Roshni Aparanji Korati, the Returning Officer of the 12 Jorhat Lok Sabha HPC to this correspondent here today.

All together 555 vehicles will be pressed into service including security purposes on the day of polling as a total of 31 hyper sensitive polling station have been identified for the five Legislative Assembly seat viz Dergaon, Jorhat, Teok, Titabor and Mariani. Moreover personnel will start their movements right from 6am to the border areas, shor areas between Assam-Nagaland towards the eastern and western side of the district where hectic security arrangement like night patrolling has been intensified at the border polling stations with forces from the central paramilitary, CRPF, SSB and Assam Police, said officials here.

Tables and stall are erected at the premises of the Jorhat Govt. Boys HS& MP School from where polling officials will be handed polling materials along with EVM,VVPAT machines which will be distributed accordingly to the serial number of respective polling stations, LAC wise, said Bijoy Baruah, a official from the material cell of the 12 Jorhat HPC.
