  • Nodal officers should work to reform students for the agriculture sector: ICAR-DDG

    Jorhat : Nodal officers should work to reform to refine and for fine tuning for which the officers should do as per as reform is concern, as per as refining of the system is concern and as per as fine tuning of different development grant is concern, said Dr. NS Rathore, Deputy Director General (Agri  education) during his address at the 4th ICAR-Education Nodal Officers Annual Interactive Meet, held at the Assam agricultural University in the inaugural session who attended as the chief guest at the AAU Conference Hall here today.

    Dr. Rathore , the DDG-ICAR Agri Education  called upon the Nodal Officers participating from various State Agricultural Universities, Central Agricultural Universities, Deem Agricultural Universities first to create a right type of awareness in their respective universities as they are the brand ambassadors working in respective universities who is responsible to create right type of awareness among stake holders in the universities, among students, faculty members ,non-teaching staff and even management staff too. At present we have 75 Agricultural Universities, we have supported every universities and putting our linking accreditation with the disbursing standing and with the developing grants from the ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research), New Delhi.

    For the complete review of the progress of various schemes of ICAR-Education division will prepare the plan for the coming year during the discussion meet od the two days session, as ICAR-Education division is dedicated to bring a quality reform in agricultural education in the country through its strong support for infrastructure, human resource development, accreditation, upliftment of backward farmers, exposure of students and faculties to new field sof agriculture, allied fields along with remarkable changes which will be brought into the agricultural system through use of ICT and recent innovations during recent years. It is expected that this year meeting will facilitate formulation program for the next five years of ICAR, Dr. PS Pandey, ADG-ICAR added.

    Dr. K M Bujarbaruah, vice chancellor AAU, Dr. M Agnihotri-ADG-HRD, ICAR and Dr. Jayanta Deka, Dean of Agriculture of Faculty, AAU addressed the Agricultural policy maker of the country, government of India during the meet’s inaugural session.
