Guwahati; In Assam, two persons died in landslides in Guwahati today. Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner said that one girl was dead at Noonmati area while another person lost his life due to landslide at South Sarania.

AIR correspondent reports that state Disaster Response Force has been deployed to recover the body from the debris at South Sarania. Houses also damaged as well as electricity supply was disrupted due to landslide. Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner said, compensation to the kins of the deceased will be given as per norms.

In the meantime, district administration has set up a team to monitor construction in Guwahati city. The team will find out unsafe residential areas.
