Most Political Parties have lauded surgical strikes across LoC and assured the government their full support in facing any situation. Talking to reporters after an all party meeting yesterday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu said, the leaders unanimously complimented the Army for the operation. He informed that the surgical strike targeted 5 to 6 places across LoC along Kupwara and Poonch and there is no casualty on Indian side.

BJP President Amit Shah in a tweet said, the strikes indicated the rise of a new India as the country has given a clear response to militants. Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad asserted that opposition will always extend support to the government action to counter the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav also echoed the same view saying cross border terrorism should be dealt in this manner only.

In a related development, India has briefed top envoys of 25 countries including the US, China, Russia, UK and France about surgical strikes conducted by Army on terror launch pads across the LoC. Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar briefed them that it was a counter-terrorism operation to neutralise terrorists who were trained to carry out attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and other major Indian cities.

Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the Line of Control on Wednesday night. Speaking to media yesterday, Director General of Military Operations Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh said, the motive of the operation was to hit out at the terrorists who were planning to infiltrate into the Indian territory. Lt General Singh informed that significant casualty was caused to terrorists during the operation.
