Haflong : General Manger of Northeast Frontier Railway Sri Anshul Gupta who has taken charge of General Manger on December 1 will be visiting the head quarters of Dima Hasao Haflong on Tuesday.

Though there has been no specific detailed information regarding his visit available with railway staffs at New Haflong Railway station but it is learnt that the GM would visit the place along with a galaxy of high officials from N F railway Head quarters and Divisional Head quarters. He would reach New Haflong at 7 am by special train. Monumental flag hoisting ceremony would be there after thorough inspection of New Haflong Railway Station and railway officials etc. After staying the night he is expected to leave Haflong towards Lumding by 8 am of 24^th December.

Meanwhile several organizations of Dima Hasao have prepared memoranda in regards to the amenities of the railway users like increase in duration of stoppage at New Haflong, Maibang, Mahur and other important stations of the district. They are also keen to meet the General Manger in person to discuss about the foot-over bridge facilities at Maibang, Langting and other places where the public have been suffering a lot due to absence of such foot-over bridges. 

Visit of a high profile official has been a boon to the people as it was seen at New Haflong Station most of the staffs and officials were found busy to clean and make proper arrangements on the eve of GM’s visit.
