Haflong  : The Chief Executive Member, N C Hills Autonomous Council Sri Debola Gorlosa appreciated the Assam Government led by Dr Hemanta Biswa Sarma for upgrading several High Schools to Higher Secondary schools in Dima Hasao.

In his Facebook wall CEM Gorlosa said Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare it today”. Walking on the path of #National Education Policy 2020 and Assam Government decision to upgrade High School to Higher Secondary, Dima Hasao’s education sector got a major boost as till now 06 nos of High Schools have been upgraded to Higher Secondary.

He wholeheartedly extended his gratitude to CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma , Shri Ranoj Pegu ,  Education Minister, Smti. Nandita Gorlosa , MLA Dima Hasao and Smt Mamata Hojai, Addl. Director of Secondary Education, Assam for their continuous support to develop the education sector of Dima Hasao.

Further, this decision will have far more positive impact on our society, earlier students of Dima Hasao after passing Matriculation has to either travel Haflong, Maibang, Umrangso for HS but now they can get access to higher education like HS in their nearby areas thereby helping the Parents in reducing financial costs, worrying about their children

The schools which have been upgraded are 1. Diyungbra High School 2. Langting High School 3. Nobdilangting High School 4. Public English High School, Harangajao 5. Fiangpui High School 6. Hatikhali High School
