Haflong : Ramesh Pokhrial ‘Nishank’, HRD Minister, Govt. of India, using online video conferencing from Shastri Bhawan New Delhi  through  NIC center, Haflong , Dima Hasao inaugurated new vidyalaya building of KV Haflong on Friday.

 

Horensing Bey, MP Autonomous District, B B Hagjer, MLA Haflong, Shri Amitabh Rajkhowa, Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao , PIT Raja Asst. Commissioner were the Special Invitees  on the auspicious Occasion at Haflong End of Video conference .

Reena Ray, IAS, Secretary School Education and literacy and Santosh Kumar Mall, IAS Commissioner, KVS were present in Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi during the video conference.

 

This was followed by school level function held at KV Haflong new Building where the students of KV Haflong extended a green welcome by presenting a green plant and colorful handwoven gamosa depicting the rich and varied craft of local weaving communities.

 

PIT Raja, Asst. Commissioner delivered the welcome address on behalf of KVS Regional Office Guwahati. The dignitaries were welcomed by a welcome song followed by Sarasvati Vandana dance performed by Shriti Khersa of class VII. Children also presented a fusion dance sequence which was prepared by children themselves without even guidance of any teacher due to holidays being in vogue.

The special invitees blessed the children by their inspiring speeches beginning with  B B Hagjer, MLA who stress the need for education in one’s life and in the society and communities at large. Chairman of vidyalaya   Amitabh Rajkhowa, D C,  Dima Hasao asserted his unflinching support for development of vidyalaya and committed his support for well-being and overall development of the children studying in KV Haflong.

 

Horensing bey, MP Autonomous District, blessed the children citing the numerous facilities and streams available these days and KV being in the forefront of providing skill based education and exposing the children to facets of education.  He also underlined and praised the children who themselves prepared the program.
