Guwahati : The Supreme Court on Friday transferred the Assam coordinator of the National Register of Citizens Prateek Hajela to Madhya Pradesh. The Supreme Court Transferred Due to ‘Threat to his Life ! that thing is still in extreme mystery. The reason why Transferred him it is not known yet.The Supreme Court Advocate sources told that the transfer has been done due to a threat to Hajela’s life. But who threat to Hajela’s life politically or Hindu or Muslim religious leader personally, The Supreme Court it did not disclose yet. Assam BJP unit chief Ranjeet Kumar Dass said that Hajela must not be released unless he submits a utilisation certificate of Rs 1,600 cr spent on the NRC. Dass has said that since Hajela has played with the sentiments of the Assamese people with a faulty NRC, and demanded the State Government and the Central Government to raise the issue with the apex Court.“Had he done good work, why would he be transferred? We got nothing from this NRC and names of genuine Indian citizens were axed.

I am not sure if Hajela will come back to Assam. If required the Assam government must file an affidavit in the Supreme Court that Hajela must not be released unless he gives the accounts of money,” Dass said. BJP’s Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev, who has been incessantly attacking the NRC coordinator, alleged that Hajela had given Assam an ‘erroneous NRC’ and could not escape. “He has sought transfer to Madhya Pradesh. However, we will get him for his wrongdoing, no matter whether he is in Madhya Pradesh or in America,” he said.

The BJP President stated that since Rs. 1,600 has been spent on the NRC, as per reports, Hajela has not accounted for where the money has been spent, adding that Hajela should not be transferred until and unless he accounts for each and every penny that was spent during the process. It may be mentioned here that the decision to transfer the NRC coordinator was met with hue-and-cry by the people of the state. The Assam Public Works (APW), ruing the NRC coordinator’s transfer, stated that at a time when many indigenous Assamese have been deprived of their citizenship rights and many Bangladeshis have been included in the NRC, the decision to transfer Hajela, who turned the NRC into a circus, is highly deplorable. Aabhijeet Sharma, the President of the body, stated “This decision is a certificate to absolve Hajela of his crimes. Although we want him to leave the NRC, we want him answer for his corrupt practices first.
