In Jammu and Kashmir, an army jawan was martyred in Pakistani firing in Naushera sector along the Line of Control in Rajouri district on Saturday.

Defence sources told   that Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of mortars on routine Indian Army patrol, 700 metres inside Indian territory in Naushera sector along the Line of Control (LC) Saturday morning.

In the exchange of fire, Rifleman Bikas Gurung hailing from Manipur was grievously injured and succumbed to his injuries later.

Army troops guarding the borderline retaliated the firing effectively and exchange of fire lasted for half an hour.
