Param Vir Chakra awardee Veer Abdul Hamid’s widow, Rasoolan Bibi passed away in Dhamupur village of Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh today. She was around 95.

Her husband Veer Abdul Hammed was awarded Param Veer Chakra, the highest wartime gallantry medal for his courage and Vellore showcased in 1965 war.

She had been ill for the past few days. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over her death. She had activly participated actively in the function of 52nd anniversary of Vir Abdul Hamid’s martyrdom in Dhamupur in September 2017.

When Army Chief General Bipin Rawat had touched Rasoolan Bibi’s feet in a gesture of respect, she had said that, The General is more like my son.
