  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said, the government is open to taking all possible steps to give Parliament the face-lift it deserves.

    Mr Modi said, when the country marks 75 years of Independence in 2022, the Parliamentary complex must showcase that grandeur. He was speaking after inauguration of the newly constructed flats for the Members of Parliament in New Delhi today.

    The Prime Minister said, there was a view in the recent budget session, that Parliamentary complex should get a face-lift in terms of facilities.

    Mr Modi said, when a new session of Parliament begins, newly-elected MPs face lot of difficulty in finding accommodation. Mr Modi said, he is glad that efforts have been made to overcome this problem. He said, people from the constituency also come to meet their MPs and accommodation is required for them as well.

    Congratulating all those involved in the process, the Prime Minister said, the Housing facility has been completed within the stipulated time-frame and the quality is also good.

    Mr Modi also welcomed the work that is being done to upgrade infrastructure at some of the Bhavans. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
