  • Policy for street vendors considered at NAC meet

    The National Advisory Council met in New Delhi yesterday to deliberate on a number of issues including a policy for street vendors, reforms in the housing scheme for the poor, abolition of child labour and development of minorities.

    The meeting was presided over by NAC Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi.

    The Council was apprised by A K Misra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, about action taken by the government on NAC recommendations on the policy for street vendors.

    NAC member Harsh Mander made presentations on reforms to the Rajiv Awas Yojana Scheme and abolition of child labour.
