President Ram Nath Kovind today paid tributes to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary. In a tweet, Mr Kovind said, a freedom fighter and symbol of democracy, Jayaprakash Narayan inspired the nation to fight uncompromisingly to uphold civil liberties and individual dignity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his message has said,  Loknayak’s unflinching commitment to protect India’s democratic fabric will never be forgotten.  The nation also remembers Jayaprakash Narayan’s notable efforts towards India’s freedom struggle and welfare of the marginalised, Mr Modi added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also   paid homage to Nanaji Deshmukh on his birth anniversary today. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, Nanaji Deshmukh worked tirelessly towards upliftment of villages in the country and for the welfare of the hardworking Indian farmers.
