Haflong: Prize distribution ceremony of wall painting competition organized as a part of Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme in connection with Assembly election, 2021 pertaining to 16-Haflong (ST) LAC, was held today near the Don Bosco waiting shed, Haflong. Sri Paul Barua, ACS, Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao district gave away prizes to the winners in presence  of Sri Rajib Roy, ACS, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Sri Lalrohlu Khiengte ACS, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, and Md Abul Kalam, ACS, Election Officer, Dima Hasao.

The Dima Hasao District Election Branch organized the creative wall painting competition for awareness amongst the electors of the district with the theme “My vote is my choice. Vote ethically” on 26^th March, 2021. Altogether 12 (twelve) participants took part in the competition. Sri Ramheube Riame bagged 1^st prize while Irabambe Nriame and Alexa Hojai bagged 2^nd and 3^rd prize respectively.

Deputy Commissioner Paul Barua while addressing the gathering appreciated the works of all the participate and wished their good luck in the endeavour. The meeting was also addressed by ADC. Rajib Roy and ADC. L. Khiengte. They opined that the voters awareness message in their creative art would make voters interested in voting. The meeting was attended among others by the officers and staff of I&PR, Dima Hasao, staff engaged in SVEEP cell, media persons and the parents of the participants.

It may be mentioned that SVEEP cell of Dima Hasao District Election has been organizing many programmes for creating awareness among voters throughout the district.
