Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Janaki said we all are “Harmonebeings” and not “humanbeings”.  The ideal food for the women on the move is ‘nuts’: Dr. Janaki, Nutritionist and VP of Indian Dieticians Association, Hyd Chapter

She suggested that the best food women can have while on the move is nuts. Almonds have as much calcium as milk, and contain magnesium, vitamin E, selenium and lots of fiber. They can lower cholesterol and help prevent cancer. Walnuts are extremely good for your heart and brain, and contain ellagic acid a cancer-fighting antioxidant informed Dr. Janaki

Cashews are rich in minerals like copper, magnesium, zinc, iron and biotin. They are actually a low-fat nut, and like olive oil, they have a high concentration of oleic acid, which is good for your heart. A handful of cashews provides one to two thousand milligrams of tryptophan, which rivals prescription antidepressant Prozac, she said.

A balanced diet must contain all five food groups comprised of Cereals, Proteins, Vegetables, Fruits and Milk, milk products, stated Dr. Janaki.

Your first food intake in the morning has to be a solid food and not the liquids like tea or coffee, Dr. Janaki added.

We are what we eat.  We blow Rs 16 lakh crore on food to get diseases. So choose your food and be healthy said Dr. Sridhar.  Don’t listen to Mother Google.  Consult a dietician.  You spend so much on your hair care and beauty, cant you afford to consult a dieticians, he asked the audience.

Dr. Meghna Verma informed that timely food is important.  If a woman is healthy, then the entire family is healthy.  Women must plan food for the week ahead and get prepared accordingly. There should be a one family meal time where all family should have a meal together.  If you don’t spend more time in kitchen, you end up spending more time in hospital, she said.
