  • Rajasthan govt to recruit 1 lakh people

    Published on December 13, 2010

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said a recruitment drive would soon be conducted to fill around one lakh posts laying vacant in various departments.

“The government, after the survey of vacant posts in various departments has decided to conduct recruitment for almost 1 lakh posts, including around 50,000 teachers and this would be done in one year,” Gehlot said in Jaipur on Monday.

“Under the 30 per cent reservation for women in the state services, 8 per cent and 2 per cent quota will now be reserved for widows and divorcee women respectively,” he added.

Gehlot said his government is trying to abolish interview system in state recruitment.

“We are testing this system. Initially, we decided not to conduct interviews in recruitment for 7300 constables, and would do it in teachers’ recruitment also,” he said.

Gehlot mentioned that contractual job system in the state services would also be removed in future and added single window system to facilitate industrialists would begin from 1stJanuary.

Meanwhile, Gehlot accused former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of being involved in rampant corruption during her rule and said the Opposition was making “baseless” remarks to target his government.

“I would like to ask them (Opposition) to come with facts and then make any concrete statement against the government. They are talking about corruption, but it was the BJP government which made corruption rampant in the state.

“Lalit Modi factor was in force in the state during Vasundhara Raje led previous BJP government. Now where Raje has hidden Lalit Modi, she must make it clear before levelling allegations on the government,” he said.
