According to sources, the railway bridge being built near the Nepal border is important for the North East. Indian Railways has almost completed the construction of a bridge of strategic importance in Bihar.It has been reported that according to the instructions, the Zonal Railway gave impetus to the work because this rail bridge, which had better connectivity with the North East parts, before this month of 31 August. To be started.

The ongoing border dispute with Nepal. From the point of view, this bridge is important. The strategic importance of this bridge is that India will be able to transport goods as well as goods from North India to North East India through it.On the other hand, ground access through this line is also expected to increase. The trains that come from the North East now. They have to come via Katihar and Malda i.e. ‘Chicken Neck’ route. This new bridge will reduce the pressure on the chicken neck first and on the other hand, the railway traffic coming from the north east will be dharbhanga.

 An alternative route will come through Nirmali and New Jalpaiguri which will run parallel to Nepal border. It is mentioned here that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee laid the foundation of this bridge.The foundation stone of this bridge was laid by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2003 to strategically connect the Indian Railways with the North East Frontier Railway zone. This bridge can be started this year on the occasion of Vajpayee’s death anniversary. According to reports quoting railway officials, the construction work of the bridge is yet to be completed from Nirmali, which is continuing rapidly.In 2003, a sanction of Rs 323 crore was made for this bridge, but on completion, the cost of this bridge was more than Rs 516 crore.
