  • SC asks centre to file status report on prevailing situation in J&K

    The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to file a status report detailing, what it termed, the ground realities prevailing in Jammu and Supreme courtKashmir.

    A bench, headed by Chief Justice TS Thakur, however, did not issue notice on the PIL, filed by senior advocate and Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party leader Bhim Singh, seeking imposition of Governor’s rule in the state.

    Singh told the apex court that due to the use of pellet guns, persons are becoming blind and there are no medical facilities available to the citizens.

    The court asked Singh about his visits to the Valley and to bring before it one person who is unable to go to the hospital due to the prevailing condition.

    The court also cautioned Singh not to take political mileage of the proceedings.
