    Published on February 6, 2011

The Centre is planning to set up special courts to try offences like the manufacturing of spurious drugs. This was stated by Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in Hyderabad yesterday. He said, the government will soon take up with the respective authorities the setting up of special courts for trial of offence under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. To begin with, special courts will be set up in cities and districts where there is a concentration of drugs and pharmaceutical industries.

Mr. Azad said, a whistle-blower scheme has been announced for unearthing the activities of spurious drugs manufacturers.
