    UPA to discuss food security bill, Jharkhand issues on Monday

    The much awaited Food Security Bill is expected to reach a higher level on Monday as Congress will discuss aksupathe bill in its UPA Coordination Committee meet which is to be held on Monday.

    The decision was taken on Saturday at the Congress Core Group meet in the Prime Minister’s residence.

    Meanwhile, UPA Government has an option to get the Food Security bill passed either in a special session of the parliament, or to implement through an ordinance or executive order.

    Sources say possibilities will be made to take a final call in the UPA meet. Sources also revealed that decision will be taken on what to be done of President’s rule in Jharkhand…

    The Core Group also discussed Chhattisgarh situation and situation in Andhra Pradesh over Telangana demand.

    Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh were present in the meeting.

    Other Union leaders including Ahmed Patel, A K Antony, P Chidambaram, Sunshil Kumar Shinde were also present in the meet.

    Food Minister K V Thomas and Congress Incharge of Andhra Pradesh Ghulam Nabi Azad were the special invitees for the meet.

    According to Congress sources, to forge consensus on food security bill All-party meeting may be held by 7th June.
