Government today said that it wants a healthy debate on all important issues in Parliament. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni charged BJP of deliberately stalling the proceedings by raising irrelevant issues. She said that the BJP’s demands are far from the concerns of the common man.

The BJP on the other hand said that it is in favour of functioning of the two Houses. Senior BJP leader Venkiah Naidu said that they will allow the Parliament to function but will continue to press for Home Minister P Chidambaram’s resignation.
