Comptroller and Auditor General of India Vinod Rai on Thursday said that though government has not sought scrutiny of the 3G auction, CAG can do it on its own.
Talking to reporters in Hyderabad, he said, there is no request from the government on 3G audit, but if there is a necessity, they will go for it. Mr Rai was in the city to deliver a lecture at the College of Defence Management.
Regarding the new CAG Bill, Mr Rai said, it will empower the audit watchdog to examine Public-Private-Participation projects also.
